Video: "Oh, for fu..." - ITV's commentator quickly corrects himself after Russian goal

09/06/2012 1:17 pm

Did ITV's Euro 2012 commentator Peter Drury have a fiver on the Czech Republic for last night's game? He certainly wasn't impressed by Russia's fourth goal.

With Russia keeping the Czech Republic on the ropes for much of last night's emphatic 4-1 victory, it was down to former Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko to seal the deal after coming on from the subs' bench.

With a cooly taken finish that put the task beyond the Czechs, there was much rejoicing from the Russian fans, though evidently ITV's Peter Drury was not impressed.

"Pavlyuchenko... OH, FOR FU... fabulous goal!" explains the commentator in the clip above, having quickly realised that he was about to shout "Oh, for f***s sake!" to what would have been millions of horrified football fans across England.

What was Peter's problem with Russia anyway? Will he be back on commentating duties for the next clash against Poland? Either way, we reckon that perhaps his bookmaker was celebrating just as hard as the Russian fans last night. Enjoy the clip above.
