Aaron Lennon denies Twitter rumours Theo Walcott headbutted him in Las Vegas last night
It can be dangerous to rely on Twitter as a reliable source at the best of times, but the social media site was rife with rumours that Theo Walcott headbutted Aaron Lennon in Las Vegas last night... until it turned out Lennon wasn't there of course.
It doesn’t take long for vicious rumours to grow legs and run on Twitter and they won’t get much more vicious for Arsenal’s Theo Walcott than a story which spread overnight that he had head-butted England colleague and Spurs winger Aaron Lennon while the pair were on holiday in Las Vegas.
The very sketchy details about the alleged incident are limited but it is reported to have taken place in Hakkasn, a nightclub in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and that Walcott hit out at Lennon because he was ‘acting hard’.
The alleged feud between the pair, of course, was just wild speculation and as you'll see below, it didn't actually happen at all, but that didn't stop some in the Twittersphere from adding their own twist to the tale, which you’ll see for yourself if you type the words ‘Walcott’ and ‘Lennon’ into the Twitter search bar.
Not surprisingly, a lot of people have also been having a bit of a fun at the expense of Lennon and Walcott and below is the funniest (and least offensive) reaction to the fictional altercation we've come across so far…

Update: Perhaps unsurprisingly, Aaron Lennon seems to have been nowhere near Las Vegas last night if the following tweet is anything to go by...
