Van der Sar has iPad at the ready for shootout
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar is taking no chances ahead of tonight’s Champions League final. An iPad with footage of Barcelona’s penalty takers will be at hand.
The 40-year-old 'keeper has admitted that when he won the European Cup with Ajax in 1995 he did not even own a mobile phone, but now times have changed dramatically and the Dutch legend takes technology seriously.
"It does feel like a lifetime," Van der Sar said. "I'm working on my autobiography back in Holland at the moment and you talk about some things and see some pictures and you think, 'Wow, that was a lifetime ago'.
"Back then we were without mobile phone, internet, those kind of things. It has been a long road, but very enjoyable."
The build-up to the final at Wembley is well underway at this stage with the mind games continuing to sprout from both camps.
Barca manager continues to lavish respect and prais upon Manchester United and has said the final will be a “classic”.
Meanwhile, the wily Alex Ferguson has not shied away from media attention and has backed his players to do the business tonight.
“They are a great side but we have to focus on ourselves,” Fergie said. “We have the players to do it and the attacking players we need on show will be there.”
