Irish soccer fans that buy a ticket to next week’s Carling Nations Cup clash with Northern Ireland will get to see two more games for free.

Supporters who purchase a ticket for the game at the Aviva Stadium will also receive free entry to Wales v Scotland on 25 May and Northern Ireland v Wales on May 27, which both take place at the same venue.

The move on behalf of the organisation comes in the wake of fears that the clash between Ireland and Northern Ireland will struggle to attract a large audience, especially considering that Giovanni Trapattoni has hinted that he will not use any players involved on the final day of the Premier League season two days earlier.

Patrons will be required to hold on to their ticket from the Ireland v Northern Ireland game to gain free entry to the subsequent two games.

As ticket prices for the game start at €30, fans that avail of the offer will essentially be paying €10 for each individual match, although some might quibble at the fact that Ireland’s final Carling Nations Cup clash with Scotland on 29 May has been excluded from the offer.

The FAI have also revealed that tickets to see Ireland play Italy in Liege on 7 June will be available for €20 for adults and €10 for supporters aged under 18 and over 60.

Two sections in the Stade Maurice Dufrasne stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000, have been reserved for Irish supporters, although it hasn’t been specified how many seats are contained in those areas.
