Ireland’s assistant manager Marco Tardelli has warned the Irish team against complacency in their upcoming match against Andorra.
The tiny principality in the Pyrenees have only won one competitive match in their history, in 2004 against Macedonia, but held Russia to a mere two goals in their opening qualifying match last Tuesday.
As such, Marco Tardelli has noted that Ireland’s match against Andorra tomorrow is no forgone conclusion.
“Normally, it is possible to win against Andorra, but you know football. Everything is possible on the pitch,†the Italian said.
“Yesterday, I saw the DVD of the game against Russia and they played well. Andorra had two chances to score. Every match is difficult. We respect Andorra. We respect ever team, but normally it is possible to win.â€
Ireland will take on Andorra tomorrow at the Aviva Stadium. Kick off will be at 7.45pm and we will be tracking it live from 6.45pm in our football section.
