The good people at Heineken have given us some great UEFA Champions League prizes to give away this year. Here’s who won what, including the big one to Ibiza.
Thanks to our hook up with Heineken we have had oddles of great prizes to give away to you during the latter stages of this year’s UEFA Champions League.
We began with our meme comp way back in the quarter-finals. We received loads of great entries and you voted for two great winners, Karl Branagan and Dara Hayes.
Then we upped the stakes for the next stage, when we asked you to create a Vine with the best winning a trip to the Bernabeu for Real Madrid’s semi-final clash with Borussia Dortmund. Again, the standard was sky high and the winner, Jamie Carroll, more than deserved his place on the plane to Spain. Check it out here.
For the final stage Heineken really pushed the boat out. With a three-day trip to Ibiza to watch the final on the line we posted some clues to a secret location last week.
Here are the clues we posted on Twitter...
Clue 1: To win a trip to Ibiza, it’s all about Capital thinking #HKNIbiza
Clue 2: Travel south to be in with a shout #HKNIbiza
Clue 3: If you’re on the Luas you’re on the right track #HKNIbiza
Clue 4: Dead end on red, it’s green all the way to Ibiza #HKNIbiza
Clue 5: Between St Stephen & Charlemont lies your ticket to #HKNIbiza
Clue 6: The Garden is open, but there’s no Iveagh in here #HKNIbiza
That led people to Everleigh Gardens venue on Harcourt Street in Dublin and there the first 11 through the door took part in an iPad penalty shoot out – winner takes all. Both John Brady and Mark McGettigan scored 700, and so we went into sudden-death. Brady posted 650 and McGettigan got 600 in the play-ff – meaning the winner was Brady, always a good name for dead-ball situations to be fair!
Here's some video of the action from the night...
John now jets of with a mate for three days of fun with Heineken in the sunshine of Ibiza, where he will watch the game at a special Heineken party. The lucky sod.
We just want to take this chance to thank all of you who entered all the various Heineken UEFA Champions League competitions this season and we hope to have lots more for you next season.
Keep an eye on the Heineken Facebook page for more great promotions.
