Considering the fairly nasty reputation Mark van Bommel has in the world of football, you'll forgive us for not feeling too much sympathy over the player getting punched in the head.

The Dutch international took part in AC Milan's 3-1 quarter final victory over Lazio last night, yet he didn't walk off the pitch unscathed. Instead, the midfielder was attacked by Lazio defender Andre Dias while waiting for a corner kick.

The wild and seemingly random attack has meant that Diaz will now miss the next 3 cup matches for the Serie A side, though he only has himself to blame.
