Fresh from scoring that brilliant header against England, Shane Long, plus a few of his Irish team-mates, met the players from Kilbarrack United and Sheriff YC today.
They’d already met the man who did it in 1988, Ray Houghton, and today the players from Kilbarrack United and Sheriff YC got to meet the2013 version.
The two teams who will hotly contest the FAI Junior Cup final at Aviva Stadium on Sunday, just hours before the Senior team play Georgia in a friendly, headed out to Malahide to meet Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad.
Star of the show was Shane Long after his majestic header at Wembley, but Robbie Keane, Stephen Kelly, Sean St Ledger and most of the rest of the squad were also on hand to sign autographs, take pictures and meet the lads and some of their supporters.
Sunday is a massive day for Kilbarrack United and Sheriff YC so a big thanks have to go to Aviva, and the FAI, for making it even bigger with a visit to see the senior squad do their stuff.
