Although this clip has just been uploaded by American gossip website TMZ, the incident itself took place back in May when Chelsea were in St. Louis, Missouri to play Manchester City in a pre-season friendly.
Recorded by some American lads who were at the scene of a local bar post-closing time, they captured Ashely Cole and unidentified buddies receiving the absolute mother of all bollo*kings from one young lady who was, to put it mildly, supposedly slightly unhappy with the tip the multi-millionaire left.
Her tirade of abuse included some choice language with the most vicious line being "I hope this stupid ass gets robbed, gets beat, gets raped right here on the motherf**king sidewalk!"
What a charming lady.
To be fair to Cole, who wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea anyway, he remains relatively calm throughout the rant, interjecting with one zinger of his own, “you talk a banter of shit now” – a line that probably won’t go down as the world’s greatest comeback.
Tip of the hat to the opportunistic lads recording the video though who, in attempting to turn a potentially disastrous situation into an advantageous one, even ask the potty-mouthed lady if she “needs some good Americans” to accompany her home. “We’re not famous or have any money but we still think you’re cute... where you going after-hours anyway?”
Smooth lads, reeeeeeal smooth.
Unfortunately for Cole, although he ended up getting back safe and sound to his hotel at some stage, Chelsea ended up losing their friendly with City 4-3 in a cracking game and you can see
