Corinthians don’t want ‘unstable’ Tevez

Carlos Tevez’ actions over the last year may finally have convinced the footballing world he is just not worth the hassle.

Formerly of Manchester United and still (just) with Manchester City he was nowhere to be seen in the most seismic Manchester derby in years at the weekend.

He has been linked with clubs all over the globe but Corinthians, his former home in Brazil, have been the strongest and most frequent. But now, even they are getting cold feet over the moody striker.

A club director, Paulo Rosenberg, is quoted today as saying: “I do not know if the coach believes he needs Tevez or what he thinks of his semi-crazy behaviour," Rosenberg told a local TV station.

"I don't know if the trainer wants to break the squad harmony by bringing in an unstable Argentine,” he added.

It may be just a ploy to lower the fee, but it is hard to argue with their logic. Not only has he tried to quit Manchester City twice in the last year, he then failed to come on in Munich in the Champions League, forcing Roberto Mancini to ditch him for good it seems. If the man who has the patience to deal with Mario Balotelli gets sick of you, you know you are pushing your luck.

"If the transfer was for a reasonable value we would make it happen, but we cannot do crazy things. I need to win championships, be it with Messi or a nobody," he pointed out.

Tevez is far from a nobody, but he may soon be forgotten.
