David Beckham to actually get into football... instead of posing in his jocks
He’s no longer a spring chicken and at 37 years of age David Beckham is now looking to his first career move post-football and as a possible owner of Málaga FC.
The model, entrepreneur and sometime footballer with LA Galaxy has often spoken of the possibility of acquiring an MLS franchise after his retirement, but according to reports in the Los Angeles Times and Spanish media he might become the majority shareholder at Málaga.
There are reports Becks is looking at the possibility of buying up 75 percent of the shares of the cash-strapped club with former US international Alexi Lalas.
Málaga face AC Milan, Anderlecht and Zenit in the Champions League this season but have been forced to float shares due to mounting debts.
Beckham and Lalas are reported to be one of the parties interested in a takeover bid.
If Beckham does become a part-owner he will join a somewhat illustrious list of English footballers who have gone on to own or part own clubs of their own.
A weird move from the world of showbiz back to footy some less than kind fans might say.
