David Meyler’s Movember effort is not a patch on Keith Fahey’s so far

Continuing our occasional series of sportsmen and their Movember efforts, here’s what David Meyler has mustered so far.

Close observers of the rumour mill will be aware that Sunderland and Ireland midfielder David Meyler might be on the move. The always reliable Twitter machine tells us that the Cork man might be joining Robbie Brady on loan at Hull, a move that would reunite him with former boss Steve Bruce.

But wherever he hangs his hat, the Irish international has a long way to go to beat his team-mate Keith Fahey in the ‘tache stakes.

Since we published Keith’s epic effort yesterday we have heard reports that he may not have followed the rules exactly and may not have entered the month entirely clean shaven. We’re not willing to give up on Keith yet so we’re waiting for confirmation on that.

Meyler has confirmed he was clean shaven on October 31 and in fairness, he has made decent progress in a week based on this pic he tweeted today. But Fahey definitely leads the JOE MO of the Month race in the early stages.

And it is all for a great cause and that's the main thing.
