Dunne deal? Not exactly. But Richard is keen on LA Galaxy

01/09/2011 8:08 am

Richard Dunne has admitted he’d be thrilled to follow Robbie Keane to Hollywood - but only when the time is right.

The Aston Villa and Ireland centre-half thinks Keane’s decision to join MLS giants LA Galaxy was a clever move – one he would not rule out for himself in two or three years.

“If the opportunity came at 34, 35, I’d definitely take it,” Dunne said in today's Irish Daily Star.

“I think it would be nice to live the lifestyle out there.”

Dunne turns 32 later this month and will make his 62nd appearance for Ireland tomorrow night in the crucial Euro 2012 qualifier with Slovakia at the Aviva.

When asked about his international future and whether or not he would continue on in the green shirt for the 2014 World Cup campaign, Dunne sat on the fence.

“I don’t know yet. We’ll see,” he said.

“If we qualified [for Euro 2012] then you might start thinking we’re going through a period where we might start qualifying for more tournaments.

“I wouldn’t want to miss out on that if I had the chance.”

"“I think it would be nice to live the lifestyle out there.” - WRONG ATTITUDE. Sorry mate you're in for a rude awakening. 1. At 34 or 35 no one will want you. 2. MLS is an athletic league nor a retirement home. You pretty much just damned your chances at any future in MLS with those statements. GMs want guys who are coming for the football, and they are coming younger and younger.
