French winger close to Celtic move
Celtic are believed to be close to signing former French international Olivier Kapo.
The former Juventus, Birmingham and Wigan winger is currently a free agent and is therefore eligible to sign for a club outside the transfer window.
Kapo has been without a club since the summer, having spent the second half of last season on loan to French side Boulogne from Wigan Athletic.
Kapo has played for a number of clubs throughout his career, beginning with Auxerre before moving to Juventus in 2004. He endured a frustrating three year spell in Turin, during which he had spells on loan with Monaco and Levante and he eventually moved to Birmingham City in 2007.
Kapo scored five goals in 26 appearances for the Blues and followed manager Steve Bruce to Wigan in 2008. He only scored one goal for the Latics and eventually left the club in August of this year after returning from his loan spell with Boulogne.
Kapo earned nine caps for France between 2002 and 2004 and scored three goals. He is believed to have signed a contract at Celtic Park until 2012, although an early termination option at the end of the 2010/11 season has also been included as part of the deal.
