As had been expected, Paul Green has been named to start in the Ireland team to face Sweden in Stockholm tomorrow night.
The Leeds midfielder had been playing alongside Glenn Whelan in central midfield in what looked to be the first-team at training all week and he will be handed the enviable task of trying to curb the influence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the Friends Arena tomorrow night.
Elsewhere, there are few surprises in the starting XI with David Forde behind a back four of Seamus Coleman, Ciaran Clark, John O’Shea and Marc Wilson, Robbie Brady and James McClean will start out wide, while Shane Long will partner Robbie Keane up front.
Doubts remain over the selection of Robbie Brady, with Trap seemingly not yet convinced he might not be ready for such a big game. If he doesn't start, Andy Keogh will come in instead.
Ireland team to play Sweden: Forde; Coleman, O’Shea, Clark, Wilson; Brady, Green, Whelan, McLean, Keane, Long
