Inter Milan and Juventus chase Liverpool defender
Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in signing Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to reports in Italy.
The 25-year old Danish international hasn’t featured for the Reds since September because of a calf injury and his former manager Rafa Benitez is thought to be keen on bringing him to the San Siro.
According to the Tutto Mercato website, Inter are favourites to secure Agger’s signature, but will face competition from fellow Serie A side Juventus.
Agger has made 82 appearances for the Reds since joining from Danish side Brondby in January 2006 and has scored five goals. He has also scored three goals in 38 appearances for the Danish national team.
Agger is renowned as a classy defender who can build attacks from the back with his passing ability, while he also possesses a fierce strike with his favoured left foot. He has been injury prone during his time at Anfield and Roy Hodgson may be tempted to cash in on the defender as he seeks to rebuild his squad.
Agger is valued in the region of €10 million.
