Is Cristiano Ronaldo on his way back to England?
All is not well at Real Madrid at the moment and it seems that Cristiano Ronaldo is considering swapping the Spanish capital for a return to English football.
According to reports in today’s Sunday Express the Portuguese international has told friends that his dream move to Real Madrid has turned into a nightmare and he is thinking of leaving.
It seems that the lack of support he received from some Real fans at the start of the season upset the 27-year-old and even though Real are top of La Liga, Ronaldo is not a happy bunny at the Bernabeu.
According to the paper, the news has alerted Ronaldo’s former club Manchester United, and the winger is reported to have told those close to him that he misses life at Old Trafford.
However, United are unlikely to be able to shell out anything close to the £80million they received in 2009 from Madrid, with Manchester City and Chelsea more likely to cough up the huge amount required to bring Ronaldo back to the Premier League.
With Jose Mourinho strongly rumoured to be leaving Madrid for England this summer Ronaldo may follow but we’re not so sure.
If Real do win La Liga will Ronaldo really want to leave? Could he do a Tevez and join rivals City? We think it might be just wishful thinking by some English journalists but if Real’s season does fall apart then this move becomes much more likely.
