Steve Kean has seemingly done everything in his power to get sacked from Blackburn Rovers yet after a four-minute clip appeared on YouTube last night, his days may be numbered.
A day after Blackburn Rovers played out a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea for their final Premier League clash before Championship football next season, a clip of Kean from 2010 - recorded covertly on a mobile phone - was released last night.
In the clip - which we've featured above - Kean appears to be making disparaging remarks concerning his predecessor and current West Ham boss Sam Allardyce while speaking to Blackburn fans in a Hong Kong bar during a pre-season Far East tour last summer.
During the video Kean can be heard boasting of his involvement in the career of then-Blackburn defender Phil Jones, who sold to Manchester United a year later. The Scot’s less than complimentary remarks about Sam Allardyce could also potentially lead to the manager being questioned by FA authorities.
Kean also tells fans in the video of his prediction that Blackburn would finish in the top half of the Premier League and win the Carling Cup - two predictions that clearly did not come to pass. The video originally appeared on YouTube and Rovers fan group BRFC Action Group last night.
Despite the damaging and embarrassing consequences of the leak - which could even hold potential legal ramifications - Blackburn's Venkys owners have thus far showed no signs that their loyalty in Kean is wavering. This morning he flies to India for his first face-to-face talks since the club was relegated.
