Liverpool supporters might be just a tad concerned by the desperate measures taken by the club website to big-up new signing Oussama Assaidi.

The 24-year was signed from Heerenveen just in time for the new Premier League season and while he’s something of a risk-free capture considering he only cost £3 million, his arrival baffled plenty of Liverpool supporters who know precious little about the Moroccan international.

They’re not the only ones who don’t know an awful lot about Assaidi, however, as the Liverpool website soon became unstuck when putting together a piece entitled '10 facts about Oussama Assaidi'.

Having discussed his age, his nationality and his trickery, the author of the article quickly ran out of useful information about Assaidi, so much so, as it happens, that the ninth fact about Assaidi talks about his credentials in the universally popular game FIFA ’12, highlighting his acceleration, agility and dribbling.

The Liverpool full backs won’t be expecting much help with their defensive duties, however, if his slide tackling stats in FIFA ’12 are a reflection of what he’s actually like in real life.

We accept that it might have been hard to find a wealth of information about such an unknown quantity, but bigging up a player on account of his stats in a computer game is surely resorting to desperate measures, much like rating a player entirely on YouTube videos.

In that spirit, here's a flavour of what Liverpool fans can expect from Assaidi next season. Unfortunately, there's no FIFA '12 footage included.
