Looks as if Neymar has finally signed on the dotted line for Barcelona

After a long courtship, it seems as though Neymar has finally been signed, sealed and delivered to Barcelona.  Figuratively speaking of course.

While people seem to be writing off Barca in some quarters after being brushed aside by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, things may not be that bleak after all. They have just won the league title back from rivals Real Madrid, and a strike force of Neymar and Messi should leave many defenders with soiled shorts.

Brazilian newspaper O Globo is reporting that the Brazilian superstar signed an agreement with the Catalans yesterday, with the Santos forward to start training with Barcelona after the Confederations Cup in June, though there is nomention of a transfer fee.

“We wanted Naymar to stay at Santos until the 2014 World Cup, but football is a business where market law prevails,” Odillio Rodrigues, Santos’ Vice President, told the paper.

The Spanish press today were full of the imminent arrival of the Brazilian superstar and it looks like a potentially lethal strike-force is set to test even the meanest defences next season.

Neymar has provided us with some spectacular moments in Brazil and if he proves even half as effective at the Nou Camp than he will still be money well spent.
