Mario Balotelli thrills his young fans... by using their school toilet

12/01/2012 6:14 pm

Is there no end to the madness that is Mario Balotelli? The latest madcap story surrounding the Italian striker involves a very personal appearance to a Manchester school.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the eccentric 21-year-old pulled up in his luxury Bentley outside the 1,800-pupil Xaverian College in Manchester at 1:30pm this afternoon with a simple request: he had to use the toilet.

“Balotelli parked his Bentley outside then came in and was asking where the toilets were, then he went to the teacher’s staff room," recalled 18-year-old student Edward Gasson.

"After that he was just walking round campus like he owned the place and everyone was following him around. I’m a City fan so it was amazing to see him but it was a bit ridiculous for him to come here – you would never expect it to happen.

Fellow student Josh Keogh also chimed in, telling the newspaper: “When he was walking around all the City fans were cheering him. He just seemed proper chilled. It was really weird to see him at our college but pretty amazing.”

Now before you start rolling your eyes and dismiss this story as another media creation, the actual school itself has released a statement, with a spokesperson stating: ‘Xaverian was delighted to receive a surprise visit from Mario, who chatted to some of the students at one of Manchester’s most successful colleges.

“We weren’t able to enroll him on any courses, but he is welcome back anytime.”

Of course Balotelli has previous form when it comes to showing up wherever he wants, completely unannounced, having wandered into an Italian women's prison in late 2010 out of pure curiosity. He apparently even confronted a child's schoolyard bully in summer 2011 too. Just what will the Manchester City enigma get up to next?
