We often hear commentators and pundits stressing the importance of not conceding an early goal. Serbian outfit Dorcola may have let in the fastest goal of all-time.
By Declan Whooley
When the Belgrade youth teams of Polet and Dorcola lined up at the weekend, little did they know that they were about to be part of history.
Quick thinking Vuk Bakic saw his opportunity and kicked a glorious shot from the half-way line to leave the goalkeeper with egg on his face.
Polet won the game 4-1 and their coach Zoran Sredic told the Serbian media that it was a consequence of a lot of work on the training ground.
“The kid came up with the idea to surprise the goalkeeper and watched his position in the box… after each training session Bakic usually stays behind to hit the crossbar from a variety of angles.”
Hat-tip to 101 Goals for the spot.
