One fan spent £2800 on match programmes from Fergie’s final game

It was a momentous occasion last weekend as the legendary manager led out his beloved Manchester United for the final time, as the Red Devils took on West Brom at the Hawthorns.

And what an unforgettable match it was as the two teams played out a thrilling 5-5 draw.

One fan will remember for it an entirely different reason altogether though, as he spent an absolute Quentin Fortune (£2800) on a whopping 700 copies of the special 144-page match programme. Maybe he was thinking that he could lovingly pass one on to each of his darling grandkids, or maybe he just bought them in the hope that he would make a million gazillion bajillion pounds and clean up on Ebay. Sort of like this fan is doing with Fergie’s final match chewing gum.

According to WHOATEALLTHEPIES.TV though, he wasn’t the only fan to do so, as one other deep-pocketed match-goer supposedly purchased another 300 copies of the programme meaning that, between the two of them, they managed to get their hands on one twentieth of the 20,000 printed copies available on the day. That’s a heck of a lot of bed-time reading.

A stroke of genius you might think. Except for one teeny tiny problem.

West Brom have since announced that they will be printing another batch of the now not-so-limited edition programmes so that fans will be able to purchase them at a much more reasonable price.
