Some of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan are reported to be preparing £50 million (€57 million) bids for Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale.

Bale has attracted the attention of Europe’s elite clubs thanks to an outstanding start to the season, including two magnificent performances against reigning European champions Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Despite the interest, however, the 21-year old has insisted that he is happy to remain at White Hart Lane.

"I am very happy at Tottenham and don't see the need to move anywhere else” he said.

"There are lots of players on long-term deals at the club and that makes for stability within the squad.

"Tottenham have shown against Inter they can compete on the biggest stage with the best teams so why would anyone want to leave?

"There is a terrific group of players at White Hart Lane, the feeling with the squad is amazing and we've certainly made everyone in Europe sit up and take notice of us now."

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is extremely keen to hold on to Bale and insisted that he will not be sold.

"If you are building a team then you need to hang on to players like Gareth Bale. He is not for sale,” said Redknapp.

"There is no price to put on him because the chairman Daniel Levy has already said Tottenham are not looking to sell their best players."
