Ireland international Andy Reid has made a return to Nottingham Forest with a two-year deal on a free transfer from Blackpool.
It’s back to where it all started from Reid, at the City Ground where he caught the attention of Tottenham in January 2005.
The 28-year-old moved to Spurs for £4million before arriving at Sunderland where his career took a turn for the worse due to injury.
In total, he only made five appearances for the Black Cats and then played the second half of last season under Ian Holloway at Blackpool.
The midfielder is Steve McClaren’s first signing as Nottingham boss and the prospect of regular football in the Championship bodes well for his international future if he can rekindle form of old.
