Aston Villa centre-half and Republic of Ireland international Richard Dunne is out for month with a shoulder injury.

The 31-year old suffered the injury during Villa’s 3-0 FA Cup defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday.

He will miss Aston Villa’s next two matches against Bolton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"Unfortunately, we're going to lose Richard Dunne for three to four weeks with a shoulder problem,” Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has confirmed.

"The good thing is, we haven't got many games during that period."

Dunne should also miss Ireland’s double header against Macedonia on March 26 and June 4.

He is likely to be back for Aston Villa’s clash with Everton on 2 April at Goodison Park.
