Robbie Keane will face Seattle and New England rather than England and Georgia after the LA Galaxy refused to release their star striker.
By Declan Whooley
Club commitments have meant Ireland’s record goal scorer will miss the glamour game with England on May 29 and the Georgia friendly four days later as both games fall outside the international window.
Keane had hoped to persuade the club to let him travel for the fixtures, but they have declined as they have fixtures with the Seattle Sounders (May 26) and New England Revolution (June 2) around the same time.
The former Spurs man had been a doubt after only just returning to club duty, but will be available for the World Cup qualifier in Dublin against the Faroe Islands on 7 June and the friendly against Spain in New York.
He always dreamed of playing in Wembley as a kid.
