We know the FA have a lot on their plate with the whole John Terry thing, but surely they could have taken some time to sort out the Ireland crest on their official website?
Ireland recently secured a high-profile friendly against the Auld Enemy which will take place in May of next year, but they obviously aren’t treating it with as much importance as we are if the official FA website is anything to go by.
A quick glance at the fixtures list on the FA website lists England’s upcoming games against the likes of Poland, Sweden and Brazil, with the details of every game featuring the England crest and the crest of their opponents... except Ireland’s that is.
Instead, this is how we’ve been treated.

OK, the Ireland crest is nothing to write home about, but that doesn’t mean it should be ignored completely; even the San Marino crest is given due recognition for God’s sake. You can see it for yourself here, although there’s a good chance that the folks at the FA might have amended it by the time you get around to having a look.
It’s only an innocent mistake, of course, but one could use it as even more motivation to spice up the rivalry between the two countries ahead of the meeting next year if they so wished.
Bring it on.
Hat-tip to Ciaran Kelly for pointing this one out to us on Facebook.
