It's the same names that are keeping the rumour mill circulating this morning, with two of the biggest names in the Premier League preparing to take flight for foreign lands.
As you would expect them to do after it became pretty clear that Luis Suarez wishes to leave the club, Liverpool have got the ‘Not for Sale’ signs out and put them all over their front garden in an attempt to scare off the many suitors that are likely to be casting flirtatious glances in the direction of the Uruguayan striker.
As anyone with even the slightest inkling of how the transfer market works knows, however, that simply means that yes, they probably will be willing to sell him but have to say publicly that they won’t so nobody will come in thinking that they can snap him up on the cheap.
According to The Guardian, Liverpool would be willing to sell Suarez, but only if they receive in excess of the £50million they were paid for Fernando Torres at the same time that Suarez joined the club from Ajax. Having sold Torres for £50 million and bought Andy Carroll for £35 million, this is a club that knows all about paying top dollar for strikers and if Suarez does end up leaving, nobody will be pulling the wool over their eyes in terms of what their star man is worth.
The same report in The Guardian suggests that there could be better news for Liverpool as far as goalkeeper Pepe Reina is concerned amid reports that Barcelona netminder Victor Valdes, who, it had been suggested, Reina might replace at the Nou Camp, is set to see out the final year of his contract with the Catalan giants.
Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot of juice in this morning’s gossip, more a case of re-hashing of rumours that have been doing the rounds ever since the end of this season and in some cases, a lot longer than that.
The Sun, for example, claim that Real Madrid want to force the hand, or more pertinently, the trusty left foot of Gareth Bale by getting him to issue a transfer request at White Hart Lane and that Real, along with Manchesters City and United and, of course PSG (who seem to be thrown in at the end of every expensive transfer rumour nowadays), are prepared to pay £80 million for the Welsh wizard.
Speaking of PSG, The Daily Express are claiming that they have told Wayne Rooney to name his personal terms in a bid to attract the want away Manchester United striker, who has kept impressively schtum on his future while on England duty in the last few days, although if his appearance against Ireland is anything to go by, that’s about the only thing he’s been doing impressively in the last few days.

Wayne Rooney already earns an obscene amount of money and PSG might be about to give him even more
Another name that’s barely been out of the papers of late is David Villa and The Daily Mirror say that he’s definitely going to either Arsenal, Spurs or Liverpool and while you can make of that you will, a far more believable bit of gossip if Arsene Wenger’s past record is anything to go by, is a potential Arsenal move for Lyon’s Clement Grenier, who is young (22), has plenty of potential and is... French.
Finally, Manuel Pellegrini’s inevitable confirmation as Manchester City boss should happen this week, a number of Russian clubs, but mainly Anzhi Makhachkala, are keen to get their hands on Papiss Cisse and staying on Tyneside, Paolo Di Canio is set to initiate an overhaul of the squad that oh so unimpressively avoided relegation from the top flight this season.
