When they were a goal down to Manchester United last night, Aston Villa knew that they needed a striker with pace and panache. They settled on Emile Heskey - here's what happened.
The much-maligned forward, who has scored just once from 12 appearances this season, had his chance to raise the roof at Villa Park yesterday in the final minute of regular time but his shot attempt was so poor that it resulted in a Manchester United throw-in.
That's right; not a goal kick or a hasty goalkeeping save, a throw-in. With the amount critics that Heskey has - not to mention that there's a Facebook group titled 'Waking up with Emile Heskey on your Fantasy Football team after a night out - the burly striker didn't exactly cover himself in glory.
Before people suggest that we're kicking Heskey while he's down (and unlike Emile, we wouldn't miss), we'll attempt to balance things out by including John O'Shea's Carling Cup shot from last season - which is now facing competition for the worst shot that's ever resulted in a throw-in.
