Lionel Messi had his first pre-season friendly in a Barca shirt last night and neither him nor his teammates showed any sign of rust.

Barcelona destroyed Moroccan side Raja Casablanca 8-0 at the Grand Stade in Tangier last night as they look to make amends for their poor season (by their high standards) last season.

Lionel Messi was again in superlative form, bagging his 22nd hat-trick in a Barcelona jersey, it’s not his first hat-trick of the summer either, the Argentinean bagged a hat-trick against Brazil this summer too.

We could go on to wax lyrical about Barcelona and their diminutive genius, but we’ll let the highlights of Messi’s performance last night speak for itself and look forward to seeing them when the new season kicks off.
