Napoli’s eccentric owner Aurelio De Laurentiis had one of the football world’s greatest hissy fits last night, after complaining of a ‘corrupt’ Serie A fixture list.
The lovably crazed 62-year-old Italian film producer, who once stated that English women do not wash their genitalia, made the public outburst after departing from the announcement of this year’s 2011/2012 Serie A fixtures. The announcement is televised yearly in Italy and contains the owners of each club within the studio.
After spotting that Napoli, who have qualified for automatic entry into this year’s Champions League, had tough domestic fixtures following their first group stage matches , De Laurentiis stormed out of the studio in disgust. But the fun didn’t stop there...
"It's all been mapped out against us," he shouted outside. "Enough is enough, I'm going back to cinema.
"I'm ashamed to be Italian! I want to change citizenship!"
Brilliantly, the De Laurentiis then hopped onto a teenager’s scooter and asked him to ‘Take me out of here!”, leaving the centre of the perceived crime in a blaze of defiance.
We’ve no idea if the Napoli owner’s claims have any validity (although this is Italy, so who knows) but all we can say is forget the football, someone get this man a reality TV show as soon as possible.
Take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think. Warning: Contains typically Italian excessive arm gesticulation.
