There were a few spectacular volleys scored in the Premier League today and Noel Hunt’s effort was up there with the best of them.

There were volleys going in all over the place across the water this afternoon, with Adel Taarabt and Branislav Ivanovic also chipping in with commendable efforts for QPR and Chelsea respectively.

Noel Hunt’s effort for Reading was just as good, however, with the Waterford man showing great technique to blast the ball home after it had ballooned up in the air inside the Swansea area.

Judging from the celebration, he certainly enjoyed it, although his joy proved short-lived as the hosts eventually clawed back the two-goal deficit to claim a share of the spoils.

The younger Hunt is not going to feature for Ireland against Germany or the Faroes in the next couple of weeks, but goals like these should ensure that he stays on Trap’s radar all the same.
