Video: The view from behind the goal with Sligo fans as they won the league
Yesterday evening Sligo Rovers won their first League title in 35 years in the Showgrounds in dramatic style here's the moment that sent Sligo fans into delirium.
Rovers needed to come back at the death from having conceded 2 goals and surrendering their half-time lead to win the league in a match against their nearest rivals St Patrick’s Athletic.
In the 88th minute the linesman flagged for a penalty after he adjudged Conor Kenna to have handled a Gavin Peers shot.
Former St Pats man Mark Quigley buried the penalty, despite Rovers fans getting exercised over the referee’s fussiness as you can see in the above video.
The goal gave manager Ian Baraclough a league title in his first year in charge.
