Nicolas Anelka’s new Chinese team are still playing their pre-season warm-ups but this game seemed far from friendly, descending into a massive brawl.
Now the top man at Shanghai Shenhua, the former Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea striker had made a good start to life in China, scoring on his debut.
But in his second game, another friendly against Nanchang Hengyuan, things turned a little nasty after two players clashed. After a bit of head-to-head pushing the fists started flying, followed closely by a few flying kicks.
Funnily enough there is no sign of the Frenchman when things begin to get a bit dangerous, but I guess the club wouldn’t want their most expensive asset to get injured either.
You can watch the punch-up above. It wouldn’t happen at Stamford Bridge.
