Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that he has lost a whopping 35 players to international duty this week.
By Declan Whooley
He has compared the Lennoxtown training complex to a ghost-town with players dotted right around the globe for international week.
"Whilst I would never stop anyone going and representing their country, it can be a very concerning time for me personally, just knowing if the players are going to be okay,” he is quoted as saying in today’s Irish Examiner.
“I think we have 35 involved throughout the club which is quite a remarkable stat really.”
He said he is particularly concerned with the Scotland and Wales fixture as he has five players that will be playing against each other.
It highlights the international flavour at Parkhead and while it is worrying for Lennon, it is a boost for Celtic supporters knowing that they have so many players good enough to play for their country.
Although even Regi Blinker had three caps for Holland, so anything is possible
