Fantasy Premier League issues apology, gives unlimited transfers
Hopefully the logging in problem is over… and guess what? All users of Fantasy Premier League can make unlimited transfers to their team for Gameweek 2.
It’s the best possible remedy for fans who couldn’t access the site last Friday and Saturday as the new season was about to kick-off.
Thousands of users couldn’t make changes to their team and thousands more couldn’t even pick a team in time.
The following statement has been posted on the Fantasy Premier League site: ‘While the demand reached unprecedented levels on Saturday morning, we fell short of the standards you expect from the world's biggest fantasy football game and make no excuses for what was both a frustrating and disappointing experience ahead of the new season. For this we apologise unreservedly.’
The apology is followed up with the news that users can make as many changes as they like ahead of Gameweek 2 this weekend:
‘No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.’

irishwinters200016/08/2011 1:55 pm #2 6This is total bullshit - the one silver lining for people who couldn't get a team in on time was that we could take advantage of the early form, see who is getting a starting place and have a team that was better positioned for GW2 than most others. Giving unlimited transfers to everyone across the board puts those who couldn't get their team in at a further disadvantage. Idiots. Unlimited transfers should only apply to people who enter teams after the deadline and before the second gameweek and those who used the auto-complete feature and didn't change it prior to GW1. - Report
