Video: MLS player takes a selfie with fans after scoring, gets a yellow card

Much like every other aspect of football, goal celebrations have changed to fit with modern times. Back in the era when professionals were allowed to wear baggy shorts and smoke a pre-match pipe, a simple handshake was enough. Colour TV saw the introduction of the famous hop in the air and punch the fist while Bebeto and 'that' celebration saw the team dynamic introduced. JOE is delighted to say that things have gotten even more creative and odd. Dom Dwyer of Sporting Kansas City put his side 1-0 up against Chicago Fire and to celebrate, he ran over to a group of fans and took a selfie.   The sad part is that Dwyer actually earned a yellow card for 'excessive celebration', but it was completely worth it. The ref is probably one of those lads on a Saturday night that refuses to be involved in any group photo. Loads of craic we would imagine. JOE is confident that this 'selfie' celebration will catch on. We're certain that an umpire wouldn't mind holding your smart phone behind the goals. UPDATE: We've been informed that the ref in this game was none other than Ireland's own former LOI whistler Alan Kelly. We've also been advised that Alan loves a group photo.
