If Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar did this, football fans all over the world would be falling over themselves to sing their praises. Rita Martins, take a bow.

JJ Okocha used to do it on occasion and every now and again Neymar will embarrass an opponent with it, but we don’t see the rainbow flick used very often these days, mainly because the person executing it looks like a complete idiot if it doesn’t come off.

It’s one thing indulging yourself way out on the pitch and another using the flick in a practical sense, as Portuguese futsal sensation Rita Martins did recently with one of the best goals we’ve seen in a long time.

Granted, the finish wasn’t all that much – that it went in is all that matters – but the movement in the run up to the goal and the execution of the flick itself is masterful and brilliant to watch.

Like we said, if it was Messi, Ronaldo or another at the top of the men’s game we’d be drooling in appreciation, so take a minute to check out Martin’s wizardry in the video above.
