Video: Adel Taarabt scored a cracker for QPR tonight

01/10/2012 10:56 pm

QPR may have gone down 2-1 to West Ham tonight, but Abel Taarabt scored a cracking consolation goal. We’re sure Mark Hughes is delighted.

Despite some predicting that West Ham would struggle back in the top flight, Sam Allardyce’s men now sit seventh in table after a 2-1 win tonight at Loftus Road.

Their two first-half goals were far from classics, with Julio Cesar not exactly covering himself in glory in the Hoops net. If you watch the below video from the start you can see Matt Jarvis and Ricardo Vaz Te hit the target but the reason we are here is Ade Taarabt’s reply in the second half.

The Moroccan international was sent on by Mark Hughes to try and salvage something and he did half the job in spectacular fashion, showing wonderful control, poise and skill to score from distance. Skip to 2.12 in the video to see it.

The result leaves QPR rooted to the foot of the table but if they can get Taarabt to play like this in every game, they should be okay.

And for all you Carlton Cole fans out there, there's a classic miss from the big man near the end of the video.
