He’s not really known for his goal-scoring ability but Aiden McGeady bent one in from distance for Spartak Moscow this weekend.

Off all the good things that Aiden McGeady brings to the table as a footballer (quick feet, speed and a handy trick or two) he will never be known as  a great goalscorer.

Possibly that is a function of the fact he hugs the touchline for club and county but this video shows what he might be able to do if he plays a bit more centrally.

Spartak Moscow faced Volga Nizhny Novgorod yesterday and they won 2-1, with new Russia boss Fabio Capello on hand to watch. But the highlight of the game came from the Irish winger, who scored a fine goal with his left foot. Skip to 2.00 to get to McGeady's goal.
