Few players can hit a free-kick as well as Andrea Pirlo and the Italian scored with a trademark set-piece in a friendly against San Marino last night.
Our admiration for Andrea Pirlo knows few bounds. The man can rock a beard as good as any other, he owns his own vineyard, he took a panenka penalty against England when the stakes were at their highest and he is one of the best midfield orchestrators of modern times.
He can also strike a brilliant free-kick and he was it again against San Marino last night with a trademark effort from 25 yards that no keeper would have stopped.

It looks good from all angles, but particularly so from behind the goal, where you can better appreciate the amount of bend he put on the ball and see that he couldn’t have placed it any better if he tried another 100 times.
As it is so often from Pirlo, this was beautiful, just beautiful.
