Celtic’s Champions League hopes lay in tatters after a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Juventus, but can feel rightly aggrieved at a number of penalty incidents turned down.

Goals from Matri, Marchisio and Vucinic has given the Bhoys a huge mountain to climb, but the man-handling by the Italians in the box was a source of frustration throughout for the home side.
The corner kicks saw the away side really get to grips with Gary Hooper and co., but largely went unpunished by the match officials and a couple of yellow cards did little to deter them.
Joey Barton, for once, summed things up pretty well.

Captain Scott Brown after the game said he had never seen anything like it (the manhandling) though did also concede they should have taken their opportunities when presented.
While they will be upset at the lack of action by the officials, their defending cost them dearly and progression to the next stage looks a tall order for the Neil Lennon’s side who battled gamely and had their opponents under the cosh for a lot of the game.
