Video: Crazy scenes and alleged racist chanting mar England Under 21 win in Serbia

A late goal, an even later red card, allegations of racism and a fight in the tunnel involving the back room team saw the end of England Under 21’s win in Serbia tonight descend into mayhem.

England’s Under 21 game tonight in Serbia was drifting to a 0-0 draw when Connor Wickham struck a late winner. According to reports in the Guardian, the crowd threw missiles at the celebrating players and then the game descended into a farce as a row developed that saw Danny Rose get sent off.

The Sunderland man can be seen in the above video kicking a ball away, but he was clearly fuming over something, allegedly racist chanting from the crowd. As he walks off, you can see Rose appear to thank the crowd and mimic a monkey gesture.

Then the backroom staff, led by assistant Steve Wigley, get dragged into a fight near the tunnel and members of the Serbian team appear to attack him.

Quoted in the Guardian, manager Stuart Pearce said: "I think there one or two racist incidents from the crowd, they've been reported to Uefa I believe by ourselves, and it's in their hands now. I'm very proud of my staff and players, I must say. It's very sad to be fair, [but] we're united as a team and a staff. I never like to see a football match end like that."

Shocking stuff.
