The Hammers defence pretty much stood aside and invited the Liverpool full-back to drift in from his right-back berth and they were made to pay for it when he struck a gem of an effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Jussi Jaaskelainen had no chance as the ball rocketed into the net like a bullet and as has happened quite a lot this season, Johnson did the honourable thing and didn’t go too over the top with his celebrations afterwards.
He would have been entitled to, because this was a belter.
