Video: He fell ova... Udinese's Pablo Armero won't want to see this again
When approaching a one on one with a 'keeper, you need to stay composed, keep your head... and preferably not kick the ground and fall flat on your face.
With his side a goal up approaching the hour mark against Braga last night, Armero had the chance to put the game beyond Udinese’s Portuguese opponents and ensure qualification for the Champions League proper.
Instead, having been put through one on one with the ‘keeper, Armero kicked the ground, fell on his face and ensured his presence in football blooper reels for generations to come (see video above).
Armero could at least take some consolation in the fact that he wasn’t the only Udinese player to embarrass themselves on the night as new signing Maicosuel endeared himself to the home fans with a failed ‘Panenka’ penalty during the shootout, which ultimately led to their exit from the competition.
As Andrea Pirlo and Sergio Ramos proved during the summer, it looks deadly when you pull it off. When the ‘keeper stays put, however, well it's just a little humiliating.
Chin up lads, you'll get over it... eventually.
