Emotions are running high in what has been a cracking first half of the Merseyside derby and Luis Suarez was eager to send a message to David Moyes after opening the scoring at Goodison Park.
The Everton manager went on the record over his concerns about Suarez’s supposed tendency to go down easy ahead of this afternoon’s clash and although footballers often say they never read the papers, Moyes’ comments weren’t lost on the spiky Uruguayan striker.
Suarez put Liverpool in front early on at Goodison Park (or at least he helped, it will probably go down as a Leighton Baines own goal) and he celebrated with an almost comical leap in front of the Everton manager in front of the dugout (see video above).
Suarez’s actions will no doubt be the subject of much discussion afterwards, but he soon made sure he’ll be talked about for the right reasons as well with the goal that put Liverpool 2-0 afterwards.
At the time of writing, Everton have pulled it back to 2-1 and it’s not even half-time, so if the first half hour is anything to go by, there’ll be plenty more talking points before the finish.
