There are bad tackles, there are very bad tackles and then there's this...
We’ve seen some horrendous tackles in football in recent years. Roy Keane on Alfe-Inge Haaland and Nigel de Jong on Xabi Alonso spring to mind, but they don’t hold a candle to the outright assault that took place in Saudi Arabia recently.
Why Alta’awon’s Yaseen Nogri felt the need to tackle Alshulaa’s Yahya Kabi when there was absolutely no danger by the sideline we have no idea, but given the level of menace in the tackle, maybe Kabi had upset him earlier in the game or slagged off his hair or something.
That’s the only reason we can think for possibly the worst tackle we’ve ever seen on a football pitch and we’re not the only ones; the appalled reaction from the commentator is priceless.
The poor fella on the receiving end of the tackle was just lucky his legs weren’t planted on the ground because he wouldn’t have them anymore if they were.
Anyway, enough talk, check out the horror tackle for yourself in the video above.
Hat tip to 101 Great Goals for the video.
