Video: Ronaldinho pulled off a very cheeky and very brilliant nutmeg last night

Watch it in real-time and it just seems like a normal nutmeg. Watch in a slow-motion replay, however, and you’ll appreciate just how brilliant this piece of skill is.

While we don’t see as much as Ronaldinho as we used to during his Barcelona and AC Milan days, it’s not as if he’s gone off the radar altogether and rarely does a week go by when we’re not feting him for some piece of brilliance for his present club Atletico Mineiro.

In fact, the four minute compilation of his best bits for the club this season is one of the best football videos you’ll watch this year.

Anyway, he was up to his old tricks in the Copa Libertadores semi-final against Tijuana last night with a quite brilliant nutmeg early on in the game that gets better and better every time you watch it.

You’ll have seen Ronaldinho pull off his trademark ‘elastico’ move to beat a defender before but in this instance he uses is to put it through the legs of a bewildered Tijuana defender and into the path of a team-mate.

Like we said, it doesn’t look like much at first, but look again at the replay and you’ll see that he knew well what he was up to.
