It might have only been in Serie D in Italy, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a better goal than this one from Teramo’s Gerardo Masini.
Not content with having beaten five players on a solo run, Masini then beat the ‘keeper with one of the cheekiest finishes you’re ever likely to see in Teramo’s 2-0 win over San Nicolo.
There’s so much about Masini’s goal to admire. The nutmeg on the first defender, the ease with which he glides past five or six defenders, but it is the finish, widely known as a rabona, that is most impressive. Skip forward to 1.20 to see the goal in all its glory.
Watching Masini do his stuff, we couldn’t help but think that we had seen something similar somewhere before…
